Aperture, Google Earth and GPS
Following on from the little AppleScript I wrote that takes GPS info from Aperture and feeds it to either Google Earth or Google Maps, I've written a helper utility that that will go both ways.
GPS2Aperture is a floating system window which can grab GPS data from either Aperture or Google Earth, let the user edit it and then send the data to either Aperture or Google Earth.
(Old link removed)
For instance if an image Version has incorrect GPS info, you can view the location in Google Earth, move around the the right location and send the edited location data back to the image Version in Aperture. Alternatively, use Google Earth to visually pick a location and add it to Versions that had no GPS data in the first place.
Note - GPS2Aperture makes changes directly to Aperture's SQLite database as the interface gives no way to alter GPS or other EXIF data. It's been tested on multiple computers and multiple Libraries without problems, but make sure you backup first, just in case!

Re: Aperture, Google Earth and GPS
No.
That might sound rather blunt, but LightRoom isn't scriptable. At all. In any way, shape, or form*. :-(
Which means that there's no way to get an ID for the current image to be able to delve into the SQLite database...
You'll probably have to go back to the master files, re-apply the GPS tags using GPSPhotoLinker or similar, and import them into LR again. Grrrr.

*Other than minor bits of GUI scripting, which doesn't normally allow you to do more than click buttons or menu items. Certainly no way into the guts of image IDs.
Re: Aperture, Google Earth and GPS
Please download the new beta, it fixes a severe bug where you might lose data!

Re: Aperture, Google Earth and GPS
Ian, this is fantastic... do you think you could do the same thing with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.1's database?
I geotagged all of my images in Iceland. However I cannot edit any of this data if it is a little off (like the first day when I didn't set the clock right on the camera).
Thanks
Rusty
