Final round of the 2008 contest

The interactive category for the contest is finally open! The interactive category is the last 'leg' of our Photokina contest. The planning for our presence at the largest photography fair in the world
is shaping up nicely.

You can find the rules here:
http://contests.ivrpa.org/08/rules#vr
If you are a current member of the IVRPA, you can enter the
'interactive' category here:
http://contests.ivrpa.org/node/add

The last day for submission to the 'Interactive' category is Sunday September 14, 2008. Entries are closed September 15, 2008. All dates and times are in Central European Time (CET).

We're planning to show all (suitable) entries in the interactive contest on the IVRPA booth at Photokina later this month. Ideally, we would like to have the Photokina audience pick the best entry in interactive category, but this is something we're still working on. We will not only show the entries in their usual form on a computer screen, but we hope to show the VRs using a number of other display methods as well. From iPhone(-like) handheld displays to VR goggles, and if all works out an
immersive surround display.

In order to support these different display method, we have a somewhat strict format policy; we will be accepting interactive vr entries as Quicktime VR .mov files only! It does not mean that we will strictly be using Quicktime to display the panoramas; we merely use Quicktime as a convenient 'container' for uploading the panoramic scene and its view parameters.

Even if you are not going to attend Photokina, this is your chance to get your work showcased at Photokina 2008. Give us something we can proudly show at our booth!

With regards,

the IVRPA BoD.
