Found: Photos of my photos-of-photos at a photo show filled with photographers not taking photos... :)

A way while back I stumbled across some photos by Heather Champ, posted on her personal Web site. She'd posted some snapshots from a Polaroid gallery/group show I took part in back in '03: Gimme Polaroid.

I tried to contact her about linking to or using some of her images, but never heard anything so I thought all was lost. :( Tonight, after following some innocent looking links while reading an article on A List Apart about how Your About Page Is a Robot, I somehow ended up on her flickr page(s) where she has posted an entire set there from the Gimme Polaroid event.

Flickr is generally off my radar for some reason, except for the last time I accidentally stumbled on Aldo's panorama interest section. It appears Heather Champ works for flickr; I imagine she must get lots of email. ;-) From one of the images in her set, it looks like my behemoth mounting of 96 re-photographed SX-70 polaroids is hanging just above-right of her piece. Who knew? ;-) She also snapped off one of the guy who was there with his 8x10 Polaroid rig -- he was shooting b/w portraits all night long.

At any rate, I'm glad somebody took some pictures that night -- typical, a room full of photographers and nary a camera in sight! Thanks for the proof I was there Heather... :-)

Re: Aldo's panorama interest section

To be honest, I did not start the group but a member named 'hangglide' did. I just made a more specialised version of SPi-V for Flickr.

We currently have over 1100 equirectangular panoramas in the group! The latest bunch is always available in SPi-V, here:

(how's that for hijacking a post?)

Wow, featured by Heather! Congrats ;-)

Ha, I guess! ;-)

I think her camera was more or less pointed at other things, and my piece just got in the frame. :-P

Hey, she emailed me back with the go-ahead to link to or use the photos -- nice! I sent her the link to here.

Thanks for the correction on the equirect group -- I guess you can't do everything. ;)

Cheers,
